Gaurikund is the last stopover place before going to the Kedarnath temple. It is about 30km away from Guptakshi. In Gaurikund, there is a hot water spring where the pilgrims bathe and offer prayer to the Gauri temple. Gaurikund is a place where goddess Gauri(Parvati) did penance to obtain Lord Shiva as her husband. The Gaurikund has good connectivity from nearby places provided by local transporters. Gaurikund is also the base camp for Kedarnath Trek. Gaurikund has decent accommodation options like Dharamshalas, guest houses, and hotels which provides comfortable stay facilities and services at affordable prices.
Guptkashi is 30 kms before Gaurikund. Sonpryag is 5 kms before Gaurikund. Sitapur is 10kms before gaurikund.
