Badrinath Temple is the first Dham among the Chardham of India and also one of the 108 Vishnya Divyadesam/Lord Vishnu holy temples. As per religious text, Lord Vishnu meditated here under Badri Tree hence named as Badrinath. In the 8th Century Guru Adi Shankara found the Sculpture of Lord Badrinath ji and later Ramanujacharya enshrined it in the temple.

Reaching Badrinath is easy but the drive can be challenging due to its remote location. The journey involves navigating through mountainous terrain, and road conditions at some places are rough and tough. However, with proper planning and transportation arrangements, many pilgrims and tourists successfully visit Badrinath each year.
The most common way to reach Badrinath from Delhi is by road. The distance is approximately 525 kilometers, and the journey takes about 10-12 hours, depending on the mode of transportation and road conditions. You can hire a taxi, take a bus, or drive your own vehicle. There are also helicopter services available from Dehradun to Badrinath for a quicker but more expensive option.
To reach the Badrinath temple from Delhi, you can follow the road route that passes through Haridwar Rishikesh, Rudraprayag, and Joshimath. After reaching Joshimath, you can take a shared taxi or use other local transportation options to cover the remaining distance to Badrinath. The temple is located about 3 kilometers from the main town, and you can either walk or hire local transport to reach the temple from the town.
Badrinath does not have a direct railway connection. The nearest railway station is Haridwar, which is well-connected to Delhi and other major cities. From Haridwar, you can then proceed to Badrinath by road. Alternatively, you can take a train to Rishikesh, which is closer to Badrinath, and continue your journey by road from there.
